Hello!
It's great to virtually meet you and thanks for stopping by! I earned my M.A. in Environmental Arts and Humanities at Oregon State University. My research explored the importance of science communication and the nuances of using narrative to convey messages. In particular, I used National Geographic's June 2018 magazine on ocean plastic as my case study. Currently I work and live in Oregon, while pursuing an undergraduate certificate in Urban Agriculture from Oregon State University.
I'm a Southern Californian at heart and I moved to the Pacific Northwest in the fall of 2016 to begin my graduate studies. Here are a few things I've gathered from my time here in addition to my accumulation of life experiences.

Top things I like about Oregon:
- Really good cider. Particularly pineapple ciders but perhaps that's my particular bias towards tropical flavors.
- Sustainably like-minded people who also save yogurt containers and other plastic containers as Tupperware.
- Access to the great outdoors. It's amazing that I'm so close to the ocean yet only a few hours from Smith Rock.
Values and beliefs
- Art and Science cannot exist without each other.
- Communication is like chess- you aren't just playing the game, you're playing your opponent. Except in this case you don't have an opponent but rather an audience. You need to know how they receive information so you know how to give them that information.
- Plants have feelings, too.
- Teachers can learn just as much, if not more, from their students.
- It's okay to not know the answer to everything. Embracing that concept builds open minds.
